What is an A&R dossier?
A single file on one artist that holds what is known about them and where each piece of it came from — the biography, the catalogue, the audience, the people around them and the routes to a human — compiled in about three minutes and kept up to date after that.
What is in one
The identity work first — which of the four artists with this name you actually mean, resolved across the platforms rather than assumed. Then the catalogue, the audience and its shape, who is around them, and whatever verifiable routes exist to reach a person.
Where a route cannot be sourced, the file says so and leaves it empty. An unverifiable phone number in a dossier is worse than a gap, because a gap is honest and a wrong number costs somebody an afternoon.
Every claim carries its source
Not a bibliography at the bottom — a source attached to each individual claim, along with the sentence it came from and a confidence figure. You can read a line, disagree with it, and go straight to the thing it was drawn from.
There is also a fingerprint on every claim, which stops the same fact being filed twice from two places and counted as two pieces of evidence. That is the failure that makes an automated file feel authoritative and be wrong: repetition reading as corroboration.
What it is for
The file is the thing you take into a room. It is not a dashboard you check; it is a document that already exists when somebody asks you what you know about an artist.
And because compiling one takes minutes rather than an afternoon, the fiftieth artist on the board gets the same treatment as the first — which is the part that has never been true before.

A dossier compiles in 3 minutes 06 at the median and 6 minutes 02 at the 95th percentile, with the longest observed at 7 minutes 09. Every claim in it carries its source, the sentence it came from, a confidence figure and a fingerprint that prevents a duplicate being filed.
Elapsed wall-clock on completed compilations of this product, over 10,430 metered operations between 23 August and 2 September 2026. The de-duplication is a uniqueness rule on the record itself rather than a check that can be skipped.
